Anthropic adds thinking.types.disabled parameter to Models API

Anthropic updated its Models API endpoints to report whether each model accepts disabling thinking mode.

What changed

Anthropic added capabilities.thinking.types.disabled to the Models API. The GET /v1/models and GET /v1/models/{model_id} endpoints now report whether each model accepts thinking: {type: “disabled”}, which turns thinking off.

What it means for Zabio customers

Zabio offers some of Anthropic’s models, but no specific models are named in this update. Developers inspect model capabilities via the Models API to know if thinking can be turned off.

What Zabio does

Nothing changes for Zabio customers.
